Productivity means something different to everyone out there. Whether you’re the kind of person who has to write out about 1000 words before you even feel the slightest bit responsible, or even just tidying up the living room works for you, your standards are going to vary. However, almost everyone can agree that when it comes to the computer, there’s a lot more we could do that has value for our time. You see, using the computer isn’t just for kids after all! So if you’re spending what you feel is too much time in front of the screen, this is the post for you. Try out some of these activities to try and feel a bit more productive with your technology use.
Schedule Yourself
If you’re finding that the computer you own is being a bit of a time suck when it comes to your days, there’s a good chance you need to get away from the screen and back into the world. It’s always a good feeling, resting your eyes and being a little more active, and as adults we feel the benefits a lot more than the younger ones do.
So try to limit your time writing, reading, researching, or even gaming to 20 minute bursts. You can do multiple bursts in a day, meaning you’ve still got plenty of time to get your tasks done, whilst still getting up out of the chair and breathing in some air elsewhere.
Learn the Language of the Web
In the digital world, there’s usually no better way to be productive than to learn what makes a computer communicate with all of the other interfaces out there. In simple terms, take some time to know how coding works! It means you can build your own websites, or give your own blog a much more personal spin.
When you get good enough, you can even start to make money off of this, considering coding is one of the most sought after skills in the world. But if you feel like you can’t take this task on alone, Training Connection offers classes to help you get to grips. You never know, you could even become a bit of a pro when it comes to website design and how to navigate through the core of technology.
Start a Research Project
These are always a lot more fun to do than you might think, and you can involve the family in then as well! So if there’s a certain area of knowledge you want to properly look into, and you don’t have the chance to commit to a degree level, start researching!
When you’ve got a spare few minutes, or a whole afternoon you want to dedicate to it, researching can work wonders. Take history for example; you could end up going on countless day trips to discover locations you look up!
When you’re on the computer, you don’t have to keep wasting your time. There’s so much to do and see when online!
