When it comes to reading books, eBooks have largely taken over the industry thanks to their low cost, ease of use and accessibility. However, there are still a couple of big advantages to using a library that modern technologies likely won’t overcome anytime soon.
Libraries are free
Yes, you can get free eBooks online and there’s plenty of information on the internet that doesn’t cost anything. However, if you’re trying to get specific books that cost a lot of money, then you might find it’s more cost-effective to rent out the book from a library instead.
You can get work done in a library
A library is a perfect place to study and work in peace. It’s like a co-working space, only free and a lot quieter.
You can attend local events
Libraries are meeting places that can offer all kinds of benefits. From sharing books to learning about different cultures, you’ll find that lots of unique community events take place in libraries.
A chance to bond
You shouldn’t consider a library a place to hook up with people like a bar, but you’ll find that there are lots of like-minded people in the library that share the same interests as you do.
There’s history to libraries
Libraries are places of knowledge, but it’s not just the books that are valuable–the library itself is also valuable! We’ve included an infographic below that covers some of the world’s most famous libraries and how they’ve changed over the years.
