The Teacher is gruesome, gory, thrilling and absolutely brilliant!
Browsing through the Amazon website for something new to read I came across The Teacher by Katerina Diamond, her debut novel, and the accompanying blurb sounded interesting although I didn’t believe it would be as good as suggested; well I was right, it wasn’t as good as the blurb suggested – it was much better and I am extremely glad I purchased it. If this is her first novel I have high hopes for future stories and can’t wait to read more by this brilliant author.
The tagline said “A shocking and compelling new crime thriller – NOT for the faint-hearted!”, and that is spot on!
When the headmaster of an exclusive private school in Devon receives an old book in the post this is the beginning of the end and the old boy’s network attached to the school is being brutally murdered, some in the most gruesome fashion.
Something terrible happened at the school which sees a former victim return 18 years later to exact his revenge and punish his abusers for their crimes.
When a series of gruesome and brutal murders occur in and around Exeter DS Adrian Miles and DS Imogen Grey are soon involved in a very strange murder case and need to find the killer to make the city safe once more. With so much at stake for the potential victims and the dark secrets to be revealed both detectives become embroiled in a dangerous game that reaches further than they can imagine and they can trust no one, even their own colleagues.
The Teacher is superbly written and pulls you into the story from page 1 and doesn’t let up. With great characters and a storyline that only reveals its secrets when the author is ready for you to understand more, especially as to the reason for the murderer becoming who he is now and why he was put through torture was something I never saw coming.
Fast paced, cleverly written and great characters and subplots The Teacher is a book that you won’t want to put down.
The Teacher is gruesome, gory, thrilling and absolutely brilliant!
