Overall, the Wicked Uncle Disco Ball Wristband is a fun little wearable gadget that children will love (although the adults in the room might not love it as much). The red, green and blue lights that it emits and projects onto the walls, ceiling and other surfaces is excellent – the lights are bright and vivid.
Despite it being a child’s novelty gift (or maybe something fun for festival goers) it is a lot sturdier than you would probably expect from this type of toy. While lightweight, the strap has a good thickness while still being flexible and adjustable, making it suitable for a wide range of wrist sizes, and it feels secure enough that it won’t fall off during enthusiastic play. The disco dome itself is made from a hard, faceted plastic that helps scatter the light effectively.
While it is meant to be worn on the wrist, it is still just as must fun when placed on a bedside table or desk to create that party atmosphere – a superb accessory for parties. And it is so easy to use – just press and hold the button to turn on and press the button to cycle through the modes to select the one that you want – apart from just projecting its colourful lightshow onto different surfaces and lighting up the room it can change colour with movement or with the beat of your favourite tunes.
And there is no need to keep changing batteries – it’s USB rechargeable. While it isn’t going to last all day of continuous use, the battery life is very reasonable as will last a good few hours when used in bursts and charging time is quick. It has a 250mAh internal battery that is charged via a USB-C cable – it comes with the cable but you will need to plug it into your charger or laptop.
I think that is a fun novelty gift that children will love and it even gets them up and moving around (and away from those screens). It is a simplistic toy but one that children (and their fun-loving adults) will have lots of enjoyment from – my young tester still hasn’t taken it off! It brings the glamour to any party.
