When it comes to getting a new phone, there are a few things you shouldn’t do to make sure you get the best deal and the phone that’s right for you. Read on and you’ll be prepared when the time comes:

Don’t Forget Insurance

One of the first things you should consider when getting a new phone is not only the price of the phone, but the price of insurance. Insurance is a must, as newer smartphones cost so much money to repair and replace, you’d likely end up in debt if something happened.

Don’t Be Talked Into Getting A Phone You Weren’t Considering

When you call up or go in store to discuss your new phone, you may get talked into a phone you weren’t originally considering. Don’t be afraid to walk away and do your own research first. Many salespeople work on commission, so it’s in their best interest to make you spend as much as possible. They may not all want to help you find the best Apple iPhone Deals for your budget. Make sure you do your own research beforehand so you know what you’re looking for, and stick to your guns if you think somebody is trying to sway you for their own gain.

Don’t Get A Phone You Can’t Really Afford

Whatever you do, make sure you know and stick to your budget. The last thing you want to do is get a phone you can’t really afford. You will resent this, no matter how great your new phone looks initially. Work out your budget, and don’t give it away straight away either. Just let the sales person know what sort of phones you’re looking at getting and that you’d like it as cheap as possible. If you give away your budget right away, it’s likely they’ll find a deal for that exact amount.

Don’t Forget About Cases And Screen Protectors

Make sure you buy a case and screen protector as soon as you buy your new phone. In some cases, you’ll be able to spend a little extra and get them in the same deal, and this is worth doing. This immediately protects your new phone from bumps and scrapes and will keep it brand new for longer. It’s too easy to drop your phone these days especially while you’re just getting used to it.

Don’t Trade In Your Current Phone

Trading in your current phone is something that many phone stores will try to persuade you to do for a ‘better deal’. However, you can usually get the same or a very similar deal without trading in your old phone. You will then be free to sell your old phone on and make some money back, which will leave you better off than trading it in.

When you buy your next phone, make sure you’ve done as much research as possible and that you keep your wits about you. Some salespeople will want to help, others will just want your money!
