SoundPEATS Q30 Wireless Earphones Review

Earphones

With so much technology these days that produce a cacophony of sounds; people using their mobile phones, kids playing games on their tablets etc. a good pair of earphones or headphones is essential.

I use my tablet a lot to watch things on Netflix and Amazon Video and always use wired earphones that are quite restrictive because of the length of the wire. So when I was asked to try out the SoundPEATS Q30 Bluetooth earphones, I was interested to see just how good they are.

When they arrived, in the box there was:

1x SoundPEATS Q30 Bluetooth Headset
3x Slide Line Buckle
1x Line Clamp
1x Leather Bag
10x Interchangeable Ear Tips
6x Interchangeable Ear Fins
1x USB Charging Cable
1x User Manual

The SoundPEATS Q30 Bluetooth Earphones are comfortable fitting earphones with ear fins, so they stay in your ear. The ear fins come three sizes; small, medium and large, so will fit everybody as they are interchangeable.

They have a Bluetooth connection to your device (phone, tablet etc.) but have a short wire to each earphone that goes around the back of your neck when the earphones are in. On the cable are the controls for volume up/down, next/previous track and a multifunction button plus a microphone (handy if using with your phone and still want to be able to make and receive calls).

Charging takes approx. 1½ hours and gives around 7-8 hours usage time before needing a recharge (up to 100 hours on standby). Charging is simple; using the supplied USB cable you plug it in to the volume control on the cable of the earphones and plug the other end in to an active computer USB port. The LED will be red while charging, turning blue when complete.

Pairing is quite simple (I have paired with my Android phone, Android tablet and iPad). Turn the Bluetooth on your phone or tablet, turn on the earphones (hold the multifunction button until you hear “power on”. Your device should then show Q30 in the discovered device and you can select it to pair the two together – you should then hear “your headset is connected” and the LED should be a solid blue.

Using them, they are very comfortable with very clear sound. Because of the ear fins, the earphones stayed put in my ears. The Bluetooth has a range of 10m (33ft) so no signal loss between my phone or tablet.

Overall, I think these earphones are fantastic. I usually have trouble with earphones staying in, especially if they have ear tips rather than a solid piece, but the ear fins solve that problem and are very comfortable. The sound is perfect, clear with no distortion. With 7-8 hours usage (depending on volume level) from one charge it lasts for everything I use it for without the need to charge in between. With a RRP of £39.99 but currently selling for under £22, they are excellent value for money.

A fantastic set of earphones with great sound, fit comfortably in the ear and no trailing cables.
