Edifier e235 Luna E 2.1 Speakers Review

Edifier e235

Wow! I have used and reviewed a number of Edifier speakers over the years, but the Edifier e235 Luna E 2.1 speakers have to be my best yet and certainly my favourite.

The Edifier e235 Luna E speakers are an award-winning THX-certified 2.1 speaker system with a 5.8G Wireless Subwoofer and Bluetooth 4.0 pairing. They have 176w of RMS power, DSP Tone Control and a range of up to 300 feet. They are currently available in 2 colours; black or red.

The box contains: 1x Subwoofer, 1x Passive satellite speaker, 1x Active satellite speaker, 1x Remote control, 1x power adapter & power cord for active satellite speaker, 1x power cord for subwoofer, 1x speaker connecting cable, 1x RCA to female adapter, 1x 3.5mm audio cable, 1x optical fibre cable and a user manual.

Connecting and pairing is extremely simple and quick. In just a couple of minutes I had them connected to the television and ready to use. You can connect via a cable (3.5mm audio cable, RCA, optical or Bluetooth). The subwoofer connects to the speakers wirelessly.

So, what can I say about this set? Well, all I can say is that I think they look great and the sound is excellent!

The subwoofer is big and vibrant with its glossy red finish (it measures approx. 15”x14”x8”) and is quite heavy. It has a 100w built-in amplifier and connects wirelessly to the speakers.

The speakers produce 38w each (16w treble and 22w mid-range) from the ¾” tweeter and a 3-inch driver. They measure approx. 8.5”x8.5”x4” each and have a curved design.

The volume of the subwoofer and the speakers can be controlled from the simple, palm sized remote control. The speaker power and volume can also be controlled by touch sensors on the active speaker.

I have been using this set for about a week with various devices (television, phone and tablet), so have use the 3.5mm audio cable and Bluetooth connections. From both types of connection, the sound is perfect with no sound loss or disruption. The subwoofer has plenty of bass and the speakers produce crystal clear sound, even at the highest volume.

I received them in red and I think they look fantastic with their gloss bright finish. The subwoofer is quite large, so you do need a bit of space, but I love the look (I think you will either love it or hate it).

Overall, I think the Edifier e235 are fantastic speakers. For me they have a great look and finish. I think they have a unique style that will appeal to people with a quirky taste or anyone that doesn’t want the standard boxy looking sound system. They have an excellent build quality, they don’t feel or look cheap. Most importantly, the sound is excellent! They can be connected a variety of different ways and to devices sound as televisions, phones, tablet, computers and laptops as well as Nintendo, Playstation or Xbox consoles, but for me the Bluetooth option is the best as no trailing wires from my devices.

At around £500, they aren’t cheap but are top quality.
