Seletti Mouse Lamp in Gold Finish (Sitting Edition) Review

Mouse Lamp

There’s a mouse loose in my house, but that’s okay because it is a gold resin one holding a lightbulb and sitting nicely on my desk!

As I have mentioned before, I like to have something quirky and different in each room. Something that is different without looking out of place and creates a talking point. When I saw the Seletti Mouse Lamp in Gold Finish (Sitting Edition) from Dusk Lighting I had a “Marmite moment” and couldn’t decide if I loved it or hated it. I decided that I really liked it and it was just quirky enough for my home office.

The Mouse Lamp is part of Dusk Lighting’s Seletti range where the lamp is available in sitting, standing and lying down styles (there are even some very cool monkeys and ravens in this range). You will really find something unique and quirky from Dusk Lighting.

It arrived well packed in a nice white gift box (looks great if you were giving as a gift). In the box is the mouse lamp, a bulb and information about the lamp. But as nice as the gift box is, unfortunately it was time to remove the mouse from that house and place him into mine.

Once removed from the box the mouse is made from resin, painted gold, it measures approx. 5x15x12.5cm and comes with a very generous 2.5m cable that has a rocker switch fitted. The supplied bulb is a warm white light – E12 1w (90 lumen 2200k) LED, which is bright enough for a desk or small table. After trying to decide where best to situate it I decided it would be best on my desk, where it looks quite good.

The mouse in its sitting position holds out a small exposed lightbulb which emits enough light to have the lamp on a desk or bedside table. The bulb may be exposed but it doesn’t put out any heat, so if accidentally touched it will not burn.

Overall, the mouse lamp looks great. It looks very realistic and detailed and I really do love the quirkiness of the mouse holding out the lightbulb towards me. It definitely adds a talking point to the room, the kids love it and visitors always ask about it.

At £79 it may seem expensive for a small desk lamp, but it is well crafted and beautifully presented in a gift box. It also comes with the LED bulb which should last a long time before it needs replacing.

I love the quirkiness of this lamp, others don’t, but it is something that is unique and adds an eccentric flair to the room.

If you are looking for something to give you room a quirky feel and a talking point then I can highly recommend this Mouse Lamp, and if you don’t like mice there are a few other animals in the range.
