Like This For Ever by Sharon Bolton Review

Like This For Ever

Like This For Ever is a top-notch, totally absorbing thriller, a very addictive and irresistible read.

Like This For Ever is the third offering in the Lacey Flint series of crime thrillers from Sharon Bolton and as the series progresses the books just keep getting better and better.

DC Lacey Flint is currently on leave from London’s Met Police after 2 very difficult and dangerous cases; a Jack the Ripper copycat killer (Now You See Me) and a group of people torturing young female students to the point of suicide (Dead Scared). They have taken their toll on her and she is currently undergoing counselling.

Meanwhile her colleagues in the MIT (Major Investigation Team) are investigating the deaths of 4 10 year boys in the space of 2 months, all with their throats cut and the bodies left on river banks. While Lacey is not a part of the investigation she is soon drawn in by her strange 12 year old neighbour, Barney, who has some strange habits and secrets.

Like This For Ever has to be my favourite of the Lacey Flint series yet. With plenty of twists and turns and just when you have convinced yourself you are 100% sure who the killer is, you then have to have another rethink, and more than once!

I don’t really like to use the phrase “a real page-turner” (as books by their design are just that) but as it was so hard to put down I can’t of another way to describe the way the story grips you and won’t let you go.

Excellent writing and storytelling.

Now have to start the fourth instalment A Dark and Twisted Tide.
