I Am Death by Chris Carter Review

I Am Death

A little while ago, I found The Crucifix Killer by Chris Carter and love his style of writing, the plot and the imaginative ways the killer in murders his victim. So I decided to read some another book in the Detective Robert Hunter series and came across I Am Death. Although this is book 7 in the series, they don’t have to be read in order.

When a 20-year-old babysitter is abducted from a house where there is no sign of a break in, forced entry or even a struggle the LAPD are called in. When her body turns up 7 days later placed in a five-point human star Detective Robert Hunter of the LAPD’s Ultra Violent Unit, a special section of robbery-homicide, is assigned the case. The killer has deliberately left clues and is daring the police to catch him if they are smart enough. With a second body turning up in quick succession Hunter is in a race against time and chasing a monster who calls himself DEATH.

Overall, I love Chris Carter’s writing. I Am Death is a fantastic thriller that features a very unique serial killer. I Am Death is absorbing and brilliant. I loved every page. The characters are great and the story isn’t too far-fetched that it becomes unbelievable.

While some readers may find some of the violence involved extreme it does make a chilling read and makes this book stand out from other serial killer novels.

It has some great plot twists, one of which I sort of figured out but wasn’t too sure about. Chris Carter keeps you guessing right to the end and does it in a fashion that keeps you interested and turning the pages for more.

This is the second book I have read by Chris Carter and am loving the Robert Hunter series (I have just been out and bought two others in the series).

Chris Carter has a great talent for writing about violent serial killers and I Am Death is a fantastic story that you will just not be able to put down, I just hope that you aren’t too squeamish!

Highly recommended.
