Aircharge Wireless Charging Keyring Dual Adapter Review

Aircharge

December is a busy time of year especially if you are out and about shopping for Christmas presents. So you’re out and about, rushing from shop to shop and the battery on your phone is fast fading. Have you remembered your phone charger and will you be able to find somewhere to plug it in? Maybe your smartphone is more up to date and supports wireless charging and you can just pop to Costa for a coffee and charge your phone while there. If you phone doesn’t support wireless charging and you forgot your charging you may be out of luck. That’s where the Aircharge is perfect.

I was lucky enough to be sent an Aircharge Wireless Charger Keyring Dual Adapter that turns phones or tablets (Android and Apple) that do not support wireless charging in to one.

The Aircharge Wireless Charging Keyring Receiver is a really useful bit of tech, enabling you to wirelessly charge your phone while out and about. It is small enough to fit on a keyring, leave in your bag or to keep in your pocket. It is compatible with any Qi wireless-enabled charger and works with Micro USB enabled phones and tablets and also MFi Lightning connector enabled iPhones (i.e. iPhone 7).

My first thoughts when I opened the packet were that it wouldn’t work (this was due to it weighing next to nothing – I doubted that there was any tech in the plastic shell). I plugged it in to my phone and placed it on the Qi enabled charger and my phone started to charge straight away.

It is very easy to use by pulling out the Micro USB cable that is on a short cable and plugging it in to your device. Then you place the receiver on a wireless charger pad (a small green LED will appear so show that is charging). That’s all there is to it – your device should now start getting a charge. If you are using an iPhone you just plug the Micro USB into the Lightning connector that is slotted into the side of the received and pull it out.

If that wasn’t enough, the next part is very handy. There is an app to accompany the device. Download the app, set a battery alert so that when your battery level drops to that amount you will receive a notification on your phone and a list of the nearest wireless charging spots (there are over 5000 on the app – places like McDonald’s, Costa etc.) will appear. What a great little idea, you never need to worry about running out of battery again or rush around looking for a charging spot or plug socket.

Overall, this is a very handy little device. It is small and lightweight and the app to locate wireless charging places is excellent. This would make the perfect Christmas gift for those that are always using their phones and worrying about their battery life. Available in Black nylon or Chrome Aluminium (silver).
