We all know that there is a housing crisis in the UK, young people are struggling to afford to buy their own homes and housing availability is quickly falling behind demand. Whilst the crisis is sad for the country as a whole, it is creating the perfect condition for investors, with there being a potential for great returns. It is important to know where you stand and if are eligible for an ETA so you can travel and do business there. You can find the top questions answered here if you are concerned. Here are 5 reasons why you should consider investing in UK property.

Record levels of population growth

The current population growth rate is 0.6%. The Office for National Statistics claims that this is a slowed down rate of growth compared to what we have been used to but that it still represents a faster growth than we have since the ‘baby boom’ after the war. With the population growing so much, the demand for housing is only going to increase. Investing in a property will, therefore, always be a safe bet.

Rising rental yields

Rental yields refer to the percentage that a property owner receives in rental income compared with the value of their property. Higher rental yields mean that you will receive a greater return on your investment. In general, rental yields are rising across the UK, in part driven by the housing crisis. If you are interested in investing in UK property go to an agency such as Knightwood Assets: Property Investments in the UK, they will help you analyse the rental yields for properties that you are interested in.

20% of the population will rent within the next 5 years

With house prices increasing rapidly, and real wages falling, young people have never been in such a terrible position when it comes to being able to afford to buy their own home. This means that many of them are turning to rentals. If you invest in a buy-to-let property now, it is likely that you will never see a shortfall in tenants, making your investment easy to manage. There are plenty of articles in the Home Reviews section of my website to help you manage your investment properties.

Housing supply at 100 year low

The housing crisis has really snuck up on us as a nation. We seem to have suddenly turned around and noticed that there are not enough houses to accommodate everybody. We are now in a position where we need to build 340,000 new homes every year, right up until 2031 in order to meet just our current demands. Investing in property has never been safer.

Political and economic stability

Yes, Brexit is on the cards, but the Government are still looking after important matters within the country. Housing is bound to be at the top of their list, given all the demands of the increasing population and shortfall in supply. You can be sure that as an investor in a property you will be much sought after by Government and that they will ensure things work out in your favour. You can also be sure of a stable economy, especially when it comes to property. There is no way that any Government would allow house prices to fall, it would just cost them too much when it comes to votes.
